PINOT NOIR, Quinta Del Mar Vineyard
$45 – 750ml
Partial whole cluster
12 months in barrel

The Performance
A forward-style Pinot Noir. It opens with a nose of Herbes de Provence, Spanish lavender & lilac. On the palate, rich spicy notes of black fig and sage, allowing for a balanced, and refreshing acidity with mild sized structure of tannins.
Winemakers Track
Grapes were harvested in the last nights of August and brought to the winery in the cool early morning hours. The grapes were fermented in open-top fermenters and held for 28 days including extended maceration. 10% whole cluster fruit was employed. Gently pressed directly to barrel, the wine aged in French oak for 12 months. 10% new barrels were used.
It’s light on its feet, and sort of dances out of the glass.
Vintage Voice
Rebel Rebel is from the Quinta Del Mar Vineyard located just outside of Nipomo on the Southern tip of the San Luis Obispo County.
Clone
Split evenly between the 115 and 777 “Dijon” clones
Winemaker Quote
“Rebel Rebel comes from the Quinta del Mar Vineyards and it’s the first time I’ve made a Pinot under my name that wasn’t from Santa Barbara County so it comes with this sort of rebellious attitude. Rebel Rebel also happens to be the first song I ever recorded in a studio and i’ve played that song for more than 30 years of my life. I know that song probably better than any other song I’ve ever known in my life. It’s about ‘Let’s go dancing!’ and this wine is feminine and masculine and you can’t really tell is this elegant or is this raw? It’s light on its feet, and sort of dances out of the glass.”
